These are the top ten reported AIDS Cases in the Metropolitan Area. However, most people are unaware of is that HEP C is 4 times more prevalent and 10 times more infectious than HIV/AIDS. So here's the Top Ten Metropolitan Areas for HIV/AIDS

  1. New York City 126,237
  2. Los Angles 43,448
  3. San Francisco 28,438
  4. Miami 25,357
  5. Washington D.C 24,844
  6. Chicago 22,703
  7. Philadelphia 20,369
  8. Houston 19,898
  9. Newark 17,796
  10. Atlanta 17,157
Here's the HEP C Data on HEP C but most of all HEP C is more prevalent than HIV by 4 times and 10 more infectious than HIV/AIDS so compare the data with ten most reported cases in Largest Metropolitan Cities bearing in mind that HEP C and HIV/AIDS are co-infectors. So let's compare the data on HEP C.
  1. About 8,000 to 10,000 Americans die every year as the result of hepatitis C.It is expected that the number of people in the next 10 to 20 years who will die from hepatitis C will be 3 times more than now.
  2. Hepatitis C is so common that it is the main reason that people need liver transplants.
  3. Estimated that over 380,000 people in Texas are infected with HCV and 3/4 of them do not know. An estimated 71,000 of these people live in Harris County.
  4. There is currently no vaccine for HCV.There are, however, various treatment that can reduce or stop viral replication and disease progression.
  5. HBV is 100 times more infectious than HIV.Every year 5,000 Americans die as a result of HBV.
  6. In the general population up to 80% of the individuals exposed to HCV become chronically infected. This rate is much higher in African Americas than in Caucasians:87-91% versus 66-67%. Thre is no clear scientific data that can explain this phenomenon, but some experts believe that African Americans may not produce a strong immune respone against the virus, making it more likely that an acute infection will develop into chronic infection.
To summarize this Data by saying if the number in these Cities are the highest Cases Reported. This clearly state that Hep C is more prevalent than HIV/AIDS so that means the numbers of HEP C cases is not being addressed so bear in mind these diseases are coinfectors and more people will die from HepC than HIV/AIDS but the people are infected with HIV/AID but will die from HEP C. For one simple reason Lack of Knowledge, Lack of information, and Lack of testing.
